- DESCRIPTION: Seeker is a computerized version of the game of hide and
- seek. You are the one seeking, your computer will do the hiding. The
- hiding takes place on a gameboard consisting of 64 hiding places, five
- of which are chosen at random. The object of the game is to locate
- and mark the position of the five hiding places.
-
- REQUIREMENTS: Seeker runs in 640x350, 16 color graphics, thus an EGA or
- VGA card is required. An original IBM EGA card does not contain enough
- graphic memory to run Seeker. Seeker also requires the use of a mouse,
- and has been tested with Logitech, Microsoft and Genius mice.
-
- Note to Logitech Mouse users: If you have a Logitech mouse, model
- CC-93-9F, you will most likely have problems running Seeker unless you
- are using the Logitech Mouse Driver version 5.01 (if you are using DOS
- 5.0 you are supposed to use this driver anyway). You can pick up a copy
- from the Logitech BBS (415) 795-0408. I included the driver with version
- 1.0 of Seeker, but it doubled the size of the package and I felt that
- was a burden we should all not have to bear.
-
- SHAREWARE: Seeker is distributed as Shareware. You are free to try the
- game and make copies for others. If you continue to use the game,
- however, you must pay the author a registration fee of $15. In return
- you will receive a copy of the latest version of the program, a coupon
- good for a single upgrade to the program and coupons good for discounts
- on other BKM software products. The upgrade coupon must be used within
- two years of purchase date, but a wait of at least a year is recommended
- before using. Disk vendors may include Seeker in their catalog provided
- a copy of the catalog is supplied to the author.
-
- FILES: The files included in Seeker Version 1.1 are as follows:
-
- SEEKER.EXE The Seeker program
- SEEKER.DOC Documentation (instructions)
- SHAREWRE.TXT Information on Shareware
- ORDER.FRM Registration form ready for printing
- SEEKER.TXT This file
- SEEKER.ICO Icon for running Seeker from within Windows.
-
- All these files MUST be included when distributing this program. If
- you archive the program for distribution through BBS's, please use
- the name SEEKER10.ZIP (or .LZH, .PAK, etc. as appropriate).
-
- SUPPORT: Support for this software is provided through the mail or
- through CompuServe's e-mail system (GO MAIL). Address mail to:
-
- Barry Keller Microsystems
- 830 Arroyo Way
- Taft, California 93268-3744
-
- Address CompuServe e-mail to Barry Keller [76216,2234].
-
- AVAILABLE SOFTWARE: Other software which I've either written or
- contributed to:
-
- PC FILELIST: A PC-based utility which simulates the IBM mainframe
- VM/CMS utilities FILEL and FLIST. Includes a REXX-based
- macro language (FLEXX). Supports EGA 43-line text modes
- and a mouse. Includes an on-line help system and screen
- and macro configuration utility. Comes with a 100+ page
- manual. Currently in Beta testing.
-
- KEYCAPS: A Hewlett Packard LaserJet font for the creation of
- user documentation. Comes in 8,10,12,16 and 24 point
- type. Packaged with Ventura Publisher WID file and
- Ventura EGA and VGA screen fonts.
-
- ICONS: How many Windows ICON sets have you seen? Too many right,
- and most are truely dreadful. What is wrong with most of
- these packages is that they are not done by artists. This
- one is and it makes a big difference. Hundreds of ICONS by
- Jack and Barry Keller covering major (and minor) software
- packages. ICONS you will be proud to show to your friends.
- Requires Windows 3.0.
-
- MEGAFONT: Utility for creating EGA screen fonts to dress up your
- computer or your program! Requires EGA or better. Mouse
- is recommended.
-
-
- These programs are probably available on your favorite BBS or from
- your favorite disk vendors. To register them or to order direct, use
- the form in the file "order.frm" which is all ready to print.
